This is a first attempt at a Hypergate design (without the Hypergate script) as part of the Monthly build challenge for January 2012.

In the Zip there are 2 version, a Full detailed version that has 12 prims, and a low detailed design that substitutes several prims for a single 256 x 256 texture.

The low detail version doesn’t look as good, but if you are running up against prim limits, then it can be used to save a couple of prims.

 

The script for the hypergate should be placed in the blue ball on the pedestal so that when touched it will jump the user to the destination.

Thanks to the suggestion of Maria, I have reduced the number of prims needed for this from the full 12 prims down to just 5 prims (yes, less than half the number of prims). This is “Super Low Detail” version: Download: Super Low Detail Hypergate Pad - Downloaded 62 times
