All night, and I think most of today, I have been persistently getting disconnected from secondlife -then from osgrid.
Basically I can fool around for ~10 minutes, then I hang and either get booted or have to log off.
I looked in my router’s security log and found a bunch of entries like this:
Tues Jul 10 21:43:09 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 21:50:14 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 21:53:58 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:02:07 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:11:55 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:20:30 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:23:10 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:31:19 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:36:43 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:46:01 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 22:58:35 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Tues Jul 10 23:01:50 2012 – WAN DHCP Client Connected IP xx.xx.xx.xx
Then, around 11pm I stopped getting the entries in my security log, but the behavior persists with firestorm and coolviewer both timing out when I log on to any grid.
I’ve called my ISP’s tech support, who basically told me to reset my cable modem. I don’t even know how to track this down, at this point. I’m on OS X, so I assume there’s a log under /var somewhere, but god knows what it even is.
I’m not doing a whole lot until this is settled, and I don’t know when that’s gonna be. I’m hoping it’s in the next day or two –I’m going through withdrawls!
